Refining Redundancy

It has been decided that a crowd will translate the content and that the translations will be published as soon as they are made.

Problem description

The linguistic skills of any single contributor can be lacking and result in a poor translation.

Allow contributors to edit and overwrite existing translations in order to refine them.

Real-life examples

The system used by Amara, formerly known as universal subtitles, implements this pattern. Outside the field of localisation, wikis implement this pattern.

Facebook, combines Open Alternatives with this pattern by letting old translations be replaced by newer ones when the newer ones have more votes.
